The O-ring is the most widely used seal in industry today. It is simple in concept, easy to install, can be used as a double-acting seal,
can seal pressures to over 5,000psi in static and dynamic applications and, best of all, is very economical.
While simple in concept, it can be very sophisticated in its applications. This catalogue is intended to give just a brief overview of
O-ring design and selection. When information beyond the scope of this catalogue is required, please visit our website or contact a
Daemar technical service representative.
O-rings are available in 349 standard inch sizes as set up by the Aerospace Standard 568 published by the society of Automotive
Engineers. These sizes are designated by dash numbers as shown in the sizing tables on pages 23 to 31. For O-ring sizes other
than these standard AS sizes, specify the actual dimensions desired for the inside diameter (I.D.) and the cross section (W).
Rotary shaft seals play a key role in extending the
operating life of bearing systems and reducing the
overall costs of maintaining these systems. The
primary function of a rotary shaft seal is to retain
bearing system lubricants therefore allowing the
bearings to operate in optimal levels of lubrication.
The secondary function of a rotary shaft seal is to
exclude contaminants from the system, contaminants
that can both damage bearings and break down the
effectiveness of lubricants. This catalogue provides a
listing of Daemar’s standard rotary shaft seal styles
and sizes. Accommodating shafts ranging from
1/4” to 40”. The design guide offers assistance in
selecting the appropriate style and material of seal
for your particular operating environment. If heat
or chemical attack are a concern we offer Viton®,
and polyurethane materials as well as the standard
silicones and nitriles. Additionally, design parameters
for shaft and bore configurations are provided.
Daemar delivers a range of Mechanical Seal solutions from the standard Types A, B, C, D and E. Daemar can also supply custom seals such as our new Type W Axial Shaft Seal.

(128) DMR Sleeves are precision stainless steel wear sleeves designed to prolong the life of damaged shafts and yokes by providing a new sealing surface that is superior to most original finishes and materials. Over time sealing lips can groove shafts due to factors such as dirt, heat, excessive water, lack of lubrication and high shaft speeds. DMR Sleeves offer a cost effective alternative to resizing, metalizing or replacing severely damaged surfaces. DMR Sleeve's low profile design means that the same size seal can be utilized and multi-lip oil seals can be accommodated.
A complete line of caps designed to protect virtually any product for virtually any application. We offer protective caps manufactured from plastic (low or high-density polyethylene), FlexTemp (for high heat resistance), silicone rubber, aluminum, paper, and vinyl. The vast selection includes threaded and tapered caps, flange covers, and static protective caps for product protection during shipping, packaging, or production processes.
As a value added benefit Daemar’s Packaging and Branding Group designs and assembles kits for customer specific requirements such as MRO applications. These kits are branded with labels that include our customers logos, part numbers and bar codes and packaged to provide easy access and the convenience of portablility. Kits are effective tools for reducing costs for maintenance and assembly staff by eliminating the guess work in part selection and saving time in part sorting.
Additionally, Standard Kits are available for O-Rings, Quad-Rings, Retaining Rings, Keystock, Shimstock, and Woodruff Keys as well as the Daemar Pack Program for O-Rings and Retaining Rings.
